Even though we put our new little raised beds garden in late this summer, we've been blessed with an absolute bumper crop of squash, zucchini, jalapenos, tomatoes and bell peppers. And now our couple of pumpkin plants are really beginning to take off. I'm afraid to look over the fence into the neighbors yard - I'm scared the runners have begun to take over their yard as well! We also have a "volunteer" pumpkin patch in the front yard. We think it's from last Halloween's "vomiting" pumpkin Erik carved. The rain must have washed the seeds down into the yard and now it's got a nice 15 inch round gorgeous yellow fruit on it. I think it's going to be a lot of fun this Halloween to carve pumpkins we grew ourselves - a first for us.
