Good to See You, Sis!

My last block of Reserve days was 6 in a row and it was a weird ride: couch sit on my first day, a quick Tampa overnight the next then a quick OKC overnight the night after that, winding up with a SLC turn on the last evening. Four trips to the airport in 6 days, for little or no money. Argh...

However, there were two definite happy things: Erik rode along on my SLC turn which cheered me up considerably. And, even though I got in at 10 pm and was out again at 6:30 the next morning, I called my sister in Oklahoma City when I got word of my overnight there and she drove into town to see me -- our first visit in just over 3 years. We went to have a bite and some coffee at a pancake house near our hotel then went back to my room where we proceeded to stay up almost all night talking and talking and talking. I think I finally turned the light off at 3:30 am, only to have my alarm go off at 5:15! YAAWWWWNNNNNN.....

I was so scared they were going to send me on to somewhere when we got back to Denver, but I lucked out - released to my ten hours rest. I was good for hardly anything the next two days, but we had a sweet visit and it was worth it. I will call her again for sure on my next layover, and pray that it's longer than 9 hours so we can get some sleep! LOL

That is definitely one of the perks of this job - reconnecting with friends and family in faraway places!!!
